The names behind the dubs

A lot of the digimon names we know in English are actually different than the original Japanese ones. Below is a list with dub names on the left, and the Japanese names on the right.

Tai = Taichi
Matt = Yamato
Izzy = Koushiro
TK = Takeru
Kari = Hikari

Davis = Daisuke
Cody = Iori
Yoli = Miyako

Henry = Jenrya
Rika = Ruki
Suzi = Shuichon
Jery = Juri
Kazu = Hirokazu

Zoe = Izumi
Tommy = Tomoki
JP = Junpei

They also changed the names of some of the digimon and items like the ones below:

MegaGargomon = SaintGargomon
EmperorGreymon = KaizerGreymon
Digi-egg = Digi-mental
D-tector = D-scanner

Occasionally, if an original Japanese scene is too intense, or doesn't move the plot along very much, it will be cut.
